NEW YEAR’S EVE IN HERSHEY GEARS UP FOR THIRD YEAR The community is invited to kick off 2008 with the third annual New Year’s Eve in Hershey, starting at 9 p.m. on the corners of Chocolate and Cocoa Avenues. This year’s event promises new entertainment, additional children’s games and more food vendors. Music will be provided by up-and-coming country band, who has just signed a national recording contract. This group is sponsored by ARM of Hershey. The other co-headlining band, sponsored by Buchart Horn / Basco Associates, is a party band and is guaranteed to get everyone dancing in the streets. “We are confident that both bands will have a little something for everyone,” said event co-chair and entertainment chair, Matt Solovey. New Year’s Eve in Hershey will once again feature the signature Hershey’s Kiss raise at midnight. The special 7 foot-tall, 300-pound Hershey’s Kiss was created by Stoner Graphix of Hummelstown in cooperation with The Hershey Company and Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. The Kiss raise will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display by Zambelli Fireworks. New Year’s Eve in Hershey also will feature great cuisine and fun food from a variety of Hershey area restaurants and community and church groups. Back by popular demand, the First United Methodist Church will provide a variety of children's games again this year. Children are once again invited to usher in the New Year by helping to raise the Hershey’s Kiss replica. Children between the ages of 4 and 12 may enter the contest by filling out the entry form available at www.HersheyNewYears.org. Entry forms should be printed and either mailed to P.O. Box 41, Hershey, PA 17033 or dropped off at the Township Municipal building at 600 Clearwater Road no later than December 15..
